Google’s March 2025 core update officially launched, and like other broad updates, this one recalibrated how Google evaluates content quality, relevance, and trust. While not the most dramatic update in recent memory, it brought noticeable shifts for sites with thin or outdated content, and even gave some a chance at recovery.

  • Global impact, with all languages and all regions impacted.
  • Ranking turbulence was spotted both at the start and near the end of rollout.
  • Tracking tools called this one of the most volatile updates in the past year, with sharp movement around March 16. However, like all updates, some were impacted negatively and others positively.
