That first answer is just the starting point. AI Mode lets you get more in-depth information with natural follow-ups in the same session. No more jumping back to a blank search bar.

Deep Search

When you have an intricate and detailed query, we’re talking research-level, AI Mode’s Deep Search can help you make sense of it. This feature breaks your question into subtopics, issues hundreds of background searches at once, and returns a fully cited report. Custom Charts and Graphs

When your question calls for data you can see, AI Mode goes to work. It breaks down the numbers and generates custom charts or graphs built just for your query. Whether you’re comparing two baseball teams’ home field stats or analyzing financial trends, you’ll get clear visual answers at a glance.

Search Live: AI Mode on the Go

Mid-June 2025 brought Search Live and takes AI Mode outside the browser. Tap the “Live” icon in the Google app for real-time voice chat while you’re cooking, driving, or multitasking.

And soon you’ll be able to use your camera in Search Live to show AI Mode what you see, turning anything around you into a question it can answer hands-free.

Who Can Access AI Mode?

Right now, Google AI Mode is part of Search Labs for personal Google accounts aged 18+. Available in the U.S. and India (English only), it requires Search history enabled so it can preserve context and give you richer responses over time.
